Visit to the Peruvian Ambassador’s Residence and Presentation of Obangsaek Jogakbo“Cultural Diplomacy through Obangsaek Jogakbo Continues at the Residence of the Peruvian Ambassador in Seoul”
On December 4, 2025, the World Masters Association (WMA) visited the residence of the Embassy of the Republic of Peru in Seoul to present an Obangsaek Jogakbo artwork created by World Master Lee O-Soon, a master in the field of traditional Korean quilting. The ceremony was attended by World Master Lee O-Soon and Ms. Kim Eun-Sil, Representative of the World Masters Association, who personally presented the artwork.
The Obangsaek Jogakbo embodies the Korean traditional philosophy of color, symbolizing harmony, balance, protection, and prosperity. Its refined symbolism resonated naturally with Peru’s vibrant and expressive color culture, serving as a meaningful cultural offering that deepened mutual understanding and artistic empathy between the two nations.
The Peruvian Ambassador and spouse expressed deep admiration for the spirit and aesthetics conveyed in the artwork. The piece was immediately displayed within the residence, becoming a distinguished cultural asset introducing the beauty of Korean traditional art. In return, the Ambassadorial couple presented a commemorative badge celebrating diplomatic relations between Korea and Peru, along with a traditional Peruvian talisman symbolizing protection and guardianship, as a gesture of friendship and cooperation.Through this exchange, the World Masters Association reaffirmed the potential for expanded cultural and artistic collaboration between Korea and Peru, and will continue to advance international cultural diplomacy under its vision,“Creating One World through Arts and Culture.”
