World Master Jung Myung-ja“Royal Court Embroidery Painting Exhibition” World Master Jung Myung-ja is a master artisan who has carried on the tradition of Joseon-era royal court embroidery, delicately expressing Korea’s history and spirit through the art of embroidery. An exhibition showcasing her artistic world in one place, “Royal Court Embroidery Painting Exhibition,” will be held from April 12, 2025 to February 28, 2026, at Yeongwol Hall, located within the Wangin Park. This exhibition has been organized to continue the lineage of Joseon royal embroidery—an art form gradually fading from memory—and to highlight its artistic value. The following representative works will be on display: Royal Procession of King Jeongjo Joseon Tongsinsa (Korean Diplomatic Missions to Japan) Sipjangsaengdo (Painting of the Ten Symbols of Longevity) Irworobongdo (Sun, Moon, and Five Peaks) The Taegeukgi (Korean National Flag) World Master Jung Myung-ja has recreated, through embroidery, the evolution of the Taegeukgi from the reign of Emperor Gojong to the present day, continuing a meaningful artistic journey that introduces Korea’s traditions and national identity to the world.
